It really depends on the sound and pocketbook i guess.
For reference E speakers currently gets $4295.00 ea for the TAD TD-4002(a top shelf 2 inch compression driver), i won't say they're the best, but most will agree they push the bar quite high. If the AT's are truly a top shelf driver, the price is quite reasonable.
OTOH, you can just get a proper pair of 288's and have about 99% of what the TAD's offer, and a whole lotta change left over, and no danger of Beryllium poisoning.:D

The 288G has been referred to as "poor man's TAD' on multiple occasions. But at say 1200 for a super clean pair vs the price of the TADs it's a no brainer for me...
